About

Bay Point Island represents a unique coastal landscape located northeast of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina at the mouth of the Port Royal Sound. Accessible by boat, the island encompasses approximately 1,400 acres including marsh, maritime forest, dunes, and beach habitats. Rich in species diversity, the island is considered a haven for shorebirds, a nesting beach for loggerhead sea turtles, and home to a variety of flora and unique fauna.

 

Mission Statement

The mission of the Bay Point Island Foundation is to foster conservation, conduct field research, promote eco-education, and advance best practices in eco-tourism resulting in the preservation of the Lowcountry and Bay Point Island.
